U8 Mixed vs U8s Norwich City Tournament

*Match Report by Rachel Hobbs for Pelicans 1* :

🏑Game 1; Pelicans v Dereham; 2:1 Pelicans win 

A really good start to the tournament, with Hollie and Poppy scoring some excellent goals, with support from Dylan and Tommy defending well.

🏑 Game 2; Pelicans v Dereham; 2:1 Pelicans win 

This was a fierce battle between the 2 sides, but Dylan stepped up and had some excellent tackles on the ball, along with Poppy. Hollie and Tommy both provided solid defence, which served the Pelis well.

🏑 Game 3; Pelicans v Dereham;4:1 Pelicans win

The dream team continued to up their game, with some really good teamwork and fantastic attacking from Poppy and Dylan. Hollie and Tommy provided the necessary defence to keep the ball away from our goal.

🏑 Game 4; Pelicans v Norwich;

7:0 Pelicans win

Just when we thought it couldn't get any better, the Pelicans were on fire with a tremendous victory. The game was full of drama, with some cracking goals, especially Hollie stepping up and tackling and chasing the ball at every opportunity, even when she injured her finger. Poppy proved herself a formidable attacker and goal scorer, with Dylan getting stuck in too. Tommy was again always there at the goal end our reliable defence, making sure we kept a clean sheet for this game.

🏑 Final Game 5; Pelicans v Dereham; 1:2 Dereham win

This final match was fiercely fought, and the Pelicans worked really hard with a great goal from Poppy, but Dereham was just able to find a little break in our defence this time. There was some excellent defence again from Tommy and Poppy. Hollie and Dylan again battled hard to gain possession of the ball at every opportunity.

Overall - the Pelicans 1 proved to be a fantastic Team, and Poppy, Hollie, Dylan and Tommy should be really proud of their efforts today. They were also very respectful towards the opposing teams, lots of cheering at the end of matches, and I especially liked watching Dylan shaking hands with the opposition at the end!
