North Norfolk U10 Girls Hockey Festival:

The girls started the season showing team spirit and sports-womanship (for our club and others!) that they should be proud of. Almost all of the girls are fresh up from U8s this season; first time playing half of a pitch (that is a lot of space).

All played a mix of positions and soon the girls found their feet, and hopefully realised that there can be fun to had playing in places other than attack, and held their own to finish in a respectable 4th place. Bridget, Maisie and Harriet E demonstrated some fantastic defence, and Pip, Georgie, Florence and Harriet H did well upfront with Pip our top goal scorer of the tournament. Evelina, Emilia and Ellenie-Rose had fun in midfield. Once we master marking and finding space we have the makings of an unstoppable team. Shout out to Elizabeth who played on goal for the first time ever (for Pelicans and Dereham!) off the back of 20 minutes training on Saturday.

Thank you parents for the support and cheering from the sideline, Rosie who done Team Management and a special thanks to Phillipa Hingley (U12s) that stepped-up to umpire 5 games; giving the coaches opportunity to coach their teams.
