Firstly, a huge well done to all the girls involved on Sunday. We have a very young team so being in the Gold Cup was always going to be hard work, the girls gave it their all and should be proud of themselves.
Verity, Annabelle and Isla-Mae had their work cut out for them in defence but really got stuck in and weren’t scared to go up against some very strong opponents.
Millie, Philippa, Pippin, Mia and Jess all put in tremendous effort across the midfield pushing up when the opportunity arose and dropping back to help support the defence when they could.
I know as goalie it’s easy to take each goal personally, but Daisy was always willing to get in front of some extremely fast and hard balls. She was fantastic at giving her teammates direction and made some amazing saves.
A brilliant goal from Pippin in our match against Magpies. This was a prime example of being positioned well and working well as a team.
There are many positives to take away from this tournament. Moments of incredible teamwork, a willingness to move positions when necessary and perseverance til the end!
