Pelicans Ladies 4th XI v Carrow – won 2-1

Finally the ladies 4th XI have been awarded a well-deserved win! Keira had less to do in goal today, but the saves she made were crucial! Ruby was magnificent sweeping the ball and Katie Nurse stuck to her player, marking her out of the game. Katie Page proved her worth by defending valiantly and putting in some good penetrating runs from the back. At the attacking end, the woodwork proved problematic, but captain Rosie and Jessie eventually found the space between the posts and the goalkeeper to score two exceptionally well placed goals in the second half.

The girls put into practise their pass and move strategy, with Lucy, Charlotte, Bex and Poppy distributing the ball well from midfield, holding their nerve and showing great determination. Hannah slaughtered the pace, playing at the front of the diamond, proving she is capable and adaptable. Grace and Millie linked well up front, showing their strength of character against much older defenders. Although Carrow scored the first goal, Pelicans held their heads high and came back stronger and more determined. A great team effort!
